Biorefinery & Bioprocess Engineering (BBE) Laboratory was established in 2007 at Yuan Ze university under supervision of Dr. John Chi-Wei Lan. The research interests in BBE laboratory include

(1) Biomass utilisation for biofuels (e.g. biodesel and bioethanol) and special chemicals production;

(2) Integration of bioprocess in bio-industry;

(3) Application of expanded bed chromatography in downstream processesand

(4) Microbial fuel cell

(5) New material, PHA, which is an attractive alternative to petro-chemical plastics.
