研究專長

Our lab is devoted to the development of novel nano powder formation, sampling, modification, microstructure, and composition control technology. Our research is targeted on both basic and applied research. With many years of powder synthesis research experience, we have also expored mid- to downstream powder processing and product development in areas such as membrance electrode assembly, wet method solar cell, sensor,  nanomemrane, antibacteria nano-silver formulations etc. Simultaneous powder based component or/and device development allows us to target on powder specifications required for achieving desired device performance, and to deepen our understanding of advantages and limitations on various powder sysnthesis methods. Many of our research with research institutes are patented. Our collaboration with industry are component, product or process oriented. Our lab has more than 20 years of experience in Computation Fluidic Dynamics (CFD) using ANSYS FLUENT package to perform microfludic analsysis, parametric study and optimization of chemical and material synthesis or processing systems.

實驗室簡介

Our lab is established in 1997 and located at R2301 of 2nd building of YZU. So far, total number of PhD and master graduates are 44. We have also trained many undergraduates. Our lab pays special attention to personal interest of individual student and job required core abiliteis such as independent research and effective communication. Our research areas includes micron- to nano-size specialty powder synthesis, characterization, surface modification, powder processing, powder formulation, powder coating, etc. Not only powder systhesis, we also have many years of experience in powder based key component such as PEMFC Membrane Electrode Ahssembly, nanosized Tin oxide CO gas sensor and process development. Our current research are focused on sensor based technology and product development. We have developed Spray Pyrolysis Reactors, Low Pressure Flat Flame Chemical Vapor Deposition Reactor . We have also collaborated with many Taoyuan based Mid-sized and above industry to develop Carbon-Based Conductive Inks for soft and hard boards, Wurster Fluidized Bed Spray Coater, microfludic channel design for micron-sized PM2.5 sensor. Currently, we are deveoted to research and development on microfludic design and automated biosensing detection platform. Graduate and undergraduate students of our lab receive training in experimental design, self-learning and analytical thinking, as well as Computational Fluid Dynamics-ANSYS FLUENT, Labview/Python/Raspberry Pi/Arduino based automation and control, 3D drawing and 3D printing for component and process design. In two projects collaborated with industry, we have successfully helped in providing professional training in fundamental and advanced theories and provided seamless technology transfer, allowing our collaborators to upgrade their RD capabilities.

Our graduate students receive solid training for core abilities required by future jobs. Alumini of our lab perform well in their jobs. 

Our lab has more than 20 years of experience in ANSYS Fluent and have developed fluid, heat and mass transfer based models for fibrous filtration, aerosol reactors and devices, flame reactor, fluidized bed, sprayers, slot die coater, HEPA test system, Air conditioned Rooms, microfludic, sensor and many others.
